Otherworld Miniatures' Labyrinth Lord Boxed Sets 1 & 2 Available for Pre-order

It was announced back in March of last year that Otherworld Miniatures and Goblinoid Games were teaming up to provide a series of miniature boxed set that correspond to the various levels of the dungeon. After some delays, the first of those boxed sets are now available for pre-order at the Otherworld Miniatures store. Both are expected to be released September 20th of this year and will cost £60.00 now and £75.00 after release.

Originally, each boxed set was to include a 3-4 page adventure that would link together to form a larger dungeon complex. I do not believe this is still the case and that the adventure concept has been discarded--which is a shame since I participated and submitted my level on time so that I could get a set of these bad boys myself, but such are the whims of fate.

Love the art on the boxes

Shame about the adventures. And yeah, the box is great, and I normally hate Hodgson's art.

Are these already existing miniatures?

Some are; some are new. It depends on the set.

Much as I love the designs that Otherworld uses for their minis, dropping US$100 on a box that contains 36 figures, many of which are small like rats and stirges (or 24 figures in the Level 2 Monster Box), is a non-starter for me. And when they jump to $125 after the pre-order period it begins to enter the territory of the ludicrous.

Joseph, the price is not US$100 per box, is US$60 in pre-order and US$75 after this period.

Oh, sorry Joseph, you are correct. The price is in £! Really a little high.

It is indeed a pricey box, but the cost is less so than purchasing the same figures individually. If you wanted to cover all your low level monster bases in one shot, it's not a bad package for truly old school style minis.

For pewter / metal miniatures, the listed price is reasonable. You can check out the much larger Reaper for comparison.

Michael, I wish every writer who agreed to take part in the project had been as reliable as you! It proved to be too problematic to produce the LL adventures as planned, but I still have hopes that we'll get them done one day, and maybe publish them as a mult-level dungeon adventure or mini-campaign.

You'll still get your boxed set, and a box of extra blister packs to reward you for your sterling efforts on the project.

Cheers,

Richard

Richard, that is very generous of you and I'm pleased to hear it. Despite the problems that occured, I remain at your disposal should you ever wish to revisit Tanglefoot Abbey and produce a dungeon for the boxed sets. Just let me know!
