In case you’re wondering, I decided to take April off from blogging so that I could get some more important things accomplished. The fact that I was so disappointed by a large percentage of blognards jumping on the A-Z bandwagon probably means that I needed a break from the echo chamber for awhile anyway, so why not kill two birds with one slingstone, neh?
I’ve temporarily killed my blog roll. It’s been long overdue for a revamp and I wasn’t looking forward to seeing it filled with A to Z entries for the next 26 or so days, so I pulled it down. It will returned afresh along with me next month.
Anyway, to tide you over until May, here’s a picture of me playing OD&D with Frank Mentzer this past Sunday. Call it “H is for Ha Ha!”

See you soon. I tried to navigate the minefield of April's A-Z so I could survive my own challenge and ended up following a link and read one by mistake. Your method of avoidance was much safer. Nice pic and even nicer that you played OD&D w/ Frank.
Having been one of the lame-petards who did the a to z thing, I think you made the right decision to back away. What at first was fun soon became tedious... but I hope I got just a couple good posts out of the deal. One of the good things is that I've been writing a lot more about my 'campaign world' since I found myself scrabbling for shit to write about.
At this point all of my a to z posts are done (they are just waiting in the queue to be auto-posted on the right day).
Word verification: "Minder"
Yeah, too many people with a lot of nothing to say.
However, at the end of the month, I plan on going back through and doing a little look see on who's posts were useful from it.
How many people were around that table?!
Reminds me of a D&D campaign during my university days, there had to be 20 or so people crammed into the D&D club office.
The DM was awesome, but that was too many people for a gaming session.

Thirteen, with the group largely divided into two seperate parties. And thus I finally understand the role of the Caller since this was how things were orchastrated and it kept the game moving along just fine. The fact the Frank is an excellent DM also helped.
I must have subscribed to the wrong blogs -- I only see two or three people doing that abedecary thing at a time...
I've been reading Jeff's Gameblog since 2007, and avidly following a lot of the newcomer old school blogs since then. The "A to Z" challenge got boring right around "A" and is probably the least interesting, longest running, and most widely adopted blog meme I've had the displeasure to ignore in the last 4 years. Thanks for skipping it.
"S" is for Slashing my interest in participating blogs.
Posts about the Canadian election also not wanted on the voyage.
Sorry.
Sorry to hear you don't like the a to z stuff. It can be a bit tedious but for me it is what let me actually get down to blogging. For some people it may break them but others that just need a goal it can be a big help.
I've been avoiding reading the A to Z stuff too. It's so boring regardless of what people say. Dreary from day one. Please guys don't make it a yearly thing.
