Yeah I suspect he was talking about inevitable game balance issues with third-party supplements. We've seen him proven right with the OGL. Of course, some gaming magazines have introduced cool things that actually work. As evidenced by Fight On!

It's more difficult to anticipate, diagnose and fix problems in complex systems (those with many working parts) than it is in simple ones (those with fewer). This is a truism.

That said, I am small-of-brain and thus entranced by new shiny things. FO! #8 on order. My first in hardcopy.
